Professional photos for each performance will be available for purchase through the studio for each class following the Christmas and June Recital. Photographs will not be received until payment is made.
Instructor Changes: On Tap Dance Studio reserves the right to change or substitute instructors as necessary.
Make-up Classes: If a class needs to be made up due to dancer illness or a conflict in schedule, they should notify the studio owner about another class they might like to attend during the week, by the end of the month in which the class was missed.
If a class is canceled due to weather conditions or instructor illness or unavailability, the class will be made up on a Sunday during that month during a scheduled time block between 1-4pm.
If there is not a feasible time for a make-up class, On Tap reserves the right to eliminate up to 2 canceled classes within any given school year. On Tap Dance Studio will make every effort to offer any and all Make-up classes that are due, but sometimes these classes can be impossible with given time constraints.
Schedule Changes: On Tap Dance Studio reserves the right to change the timing of a class permanently, due to a change in instructors availability as a result of unforeseen circumstances.
Weather Closure: On Tap Dance Studio reserves the right to close the school when inclement weather creates road conditions that are deemed unsuitable for safe travel. On Tap Dance Studio monitors the closure of other public institutions and weather warnings to determine when a closure should be made. We attempt to make a school closure decision by 1:00 PM. We place a notification of the studios closure immediately on our website, www.ontapdancestudio.com, emails are usually sent, but are sometimes missed due to time constraints.
General Attendance Policy- Please try to arrive to class 5-10 minutes early and be ready to dance.
If you arrive late, try not to disturb a class that is already in progress. Commitment and attendance is important in dance and we expect our dancers to make every best effort to be present. Even if injured, our students can still benefit from watching as we cover important steps and choreography in class.
We ask that dancers NOT come to class if they have the flu or a fever, as we do not want anything contagious to spread.
If a child has more than 3 unexcused absences per semester, and/or is holding back the rest of the class, than the studio reserves the right to withhold that dancer from performing in the Christmas Show or June Recital. Refunds are not given for unexcused absences, lack of participation, or missed performances as a result of poor attendance or participation. If you know you will be absent from a class in advance, please
Tiny Dancers’ Attendance-You are responsible for notifying On Tap Dance Studio by 2PM on normal dismissal days or by 12PM on embedded time days if your dancer will not be attending class
email@example.com in the event of a dancer’s absence or late arrival to class.
Behaviour Policy-All Dancers are expected to respect themselves, their instructors, studio, and fellow classmates. For safety reasons, there is no running allowed in the studio and no gum chewing. We ask that dancers refrain from wearing loose, sharp, or dangling jewelry during class, rehearsals, or performances. Parents are asked to sit in the lobby or leave and return at class end for their dancer unless they are a Creative Movement or Intro. to Dance parent. The studio will not release dancers 10 and under without a visual sign of their parent or signed note from home indicating they are allowed to leave alone or with a friend. No aggressiveness towards instructors, studio owner, or studio staff will not be tolerated. If a Dancer is not acting in accordance with our policies, the will be granted 3 written warnings. After their 3rd warning, they will be suspended from the studio with no refund. Proper dance etiquette is expected and any disruption in classes or performances will be noted in writing to the dancer’s parent.
Safe Environment Policy-On Tap Dance Studio has no tolerance for Badmouthing or Bullying. If your dancer is experiencing bullying from other dancers, parents, or instructors, please notify firstname.lastname@example.org right away. We will do our best to mediate the situation. Multiple offences will result in a dancer, parent or instructor’s termination from the studio with no refunds or payments.
Multi-Studio Policy-While we understand some of our students may be trying to get the most out of their dance educations by taking classes from more than one studio, we ask that you respect our instruction and protocols as everybody has different teaching methods. We would appreciate dancers, not attempting to solicit other dancers or instructors to the other studios on behalf of those studios and we prefer if competitive, that dancers only compete for one team. We find it a conflict of interest for our dancers to work with another studio’s competitive team and have run into too many scheduling conflicts in the past. If our studio or its staff feels threatened in any way, we will require mediation to remedy the situation. If the situation cannot be remedied, we may require that the dancer not continue their studies with On Tap.
